A Sunday at the Alma: Roasts, Pints and Live Music
Slow Sundays at the Alma — long lunches, a proper roast, and free live music from 7pm as the weekend winds down.
There is a particular rhythm to a Sunday at the Alma. Lunch begins at noon, the roasts come out of the kitchen in steady waves, the beer garden fills if the weather is kind, and somewhere around seven the bar quietens for a moment before the first notes of the night's live music drift through.
A proper roast
Our Sunday roasts are the backbone of the weekend — generous, unpretentious and cooked fresh in the Alma kitchen. Pair one with a pint of something local and a corner table, and you have the makings of a very good afternoon. (A note for summer: we serve our regular lunch menu on Sundays while roasts take a break, returning later in the season.)
Sunday Sessions from 7pm
As the afternoon fades, our Sunday Sessions take over. Every week we host the best of local and touring musicians — folk, jazz, blues and roots — and it is completely free to attend. No tickets, no fuss; just turn up, find a spot, and let the weekend wind down. Have a look at our events calendar for who is playing next.
If you are planning to eat before the music, it is worth booking a table — Sundays are our busiest day, and the dog-friendly bar fills up quickly.
